Le Manoir St Sulpice

Le Manoir

Built in the 19th Century and previously owned by the same family for over 150 years, Le Manoir is a sympathetically restored manor house set in the heart of the Périgord Vert and the ideal backdrop from which to explore. With rolling green hills and deep forested valleys, the region is famed for its picturesque villages and ancient market towns.

Le Manoir St Sulpice

Living Space

In our hunt for the ideal property in the area, we believed that above all it must work as a home, the rooms should flow naturally, the fixtures and fittings needed to be authentic and either match or compliment the age of the property. When replacing woodwork we used the originals as a template and made good the ceiling moldings, the floors are mainly original and the light fittings hint at the grandeur of years gone by. The pictures are those that we have collected over the past 40 years as are the many books. The furniture has been carefully sourced from local auctions and the decoration and curtains selected to enhance the French feel of the property. Suitable for rent all year around, the property has been insolated, central heating updated and a wood-burning fire fitted in the informal sitting room. Around you will find magazines and elegant reference books with pictures of the local countryside and attractions, the chateaux and the regional food.
