Le Manoir
Built in the 19th Century and previously owned by the same family for over 150 years, Le Manoir is a sympathetically restored manor house set in the heart of the Périgord Vert and the ideal backdrop from which to explore. With rolling green hills and deep forested valleys, the region is famed for its picturesque villages and ancient market towns.
All year around, Le Manoir offers guests a perfect environment to recuperate from the pressures of modern living. With an eye for detail, old and new blend seamlessly to provide an embracing family-friendly home that gives the time and space to promote wellness and wellbeing.
COVID 19 Precautions
We follow a 5-step cleaning protocol following ECDC guidelines: Prepare; Clean; Sanitise; Check and Reset. All solid surfaces, door handles, light switches and frequently touched areas will be cleaned and disinfected. Additional wipes and hand cleansing solution will be provided.
We will adhere to social distancing of 2m and ask that you do likewise. If you need help, please ring the bell by our gate.
We will not enter Le Manoir during your visit unless there is something that needs our urgent attention. You will be invited to vacate that area for 30 mins and remain clear of that area until 30 mins after we leave.
We will minimize the number of soft furnishings, if you would like more during your stay, please let us know. All bedding and towels will be freshly laundered, and toiletries renewed.
When in use, the pool area will be cleaned daily between 0700-0830, we will ask that you keep the area clear during this time, unless previously agreed.
The Grounds
Le Manoir is positioned within an enclosed 2 acre mature garden, offering families a secure space to relax and play. The large south-facing terrace makes an ideal dining venue in warmer months, with uninterrupted views across the garden onto the village and 12th century church. Mostly laid to lawn, the grounds have plenty of areas for ball and racket games, while the ancient lime trees provide cool shade from the summer sun. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the plentiful seasonal fruits and vegetables from the well-stocked kitchen garden and fresh eggs are available daily.
Set to the side of the main house, the private and secluded pool area benefits from total privacy, not being overlooked by adjacent properties or gardens. The salt-water pool and large pool house face south and provide an ideal place for guests to lie back, enjoy the sunshine and unwind. The exceptional pool house offers a spacious comfortable seating area, covered dining table for 12 and a well-equipped outdoor kitchen with a plancha and BBQs.
The Area
The Périgord Vert is the ideal region to explore, be it on foot, bicycle, canoe, horse or even velo-rail. There are numerous historic and picturesque towns and villages with their restaurants, shops and vibrant markets. Spectacular castles and gardens are within easy reach as are pre-historic caves, family friendly zoos and farms. The lake near St Yrieix not only has a beach and extensive children's play area, but it also hosts an impressive water-skiing site. Elsewhere for those with a head for heights, rock climbing, or ballooning are also available.
